„Mount Ephemeral“ is a portrayal of a mountain range both real and imagined.
Bernstein’s debut album was created in two phases, the first one secluded in the mountains, the second one in Berlin. The result is a vibrant soundwalk through ever-evolving landscapes.
Layering field recordings with synthetic sounds, the album lives from the balance between the natural and the artificial, asking questions about what nature is for us humans. Is it only the longing for an untouched land?
Next to personal memories, the album also takes inspiration from classical works of the romantic period, telling a narrative of an idealized nature, chapter by chapter. But what those chapters really tell, is up to you.
